Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer

The B+ Foundation gets help in many creative ways. Not only do these events raise money to help us further our mission, but they dramatically increase awareness of the B+ Movement. Check out a few of the more recent ways that kids (and adults) are helping kids fight cancer.

Adults and Companies

  • Catherine Rooney's and C.R. Hooligans donated the proceeds from January Guinness Draft sales to B+.
  • The cast and crew of "Seussical" at The New Candlelight Theatre in Arden, DE, threw a B+ Night for B+ Heroes, and raised awareness and money for The B+ Foundation.  Plus, it was a great show!
  • Deb Lewis held a birthday bash with gift donations and silent auction proceeds going to B+.
  • DiSabatino Landscaping in Delaware is offering to make a donation to B+ when you refer a friend to use their services.
  • Darah of @AbolishCancer helped Ali develop a Twitterthon that raised $3,000 and gained awareness from actresses Jeri Ryan, Alyssa Milano and several pro athletes. 
  • SAFEWAY Stores (Eastern Division) have awarded The B+ Foundation with a $2500 grant.
  • NAPA Auto Repair Shops in Wilmington have offered their services to B+ Hero families to help lighten their load.
  • The IT Department at Barclay's Bank held a golf outing and this year the $22,000 raised came to B+!
  • Employees of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Delta, PA, sold T-shirts for their month-long plant maintenance, and raised over $11,000 for B+!
  • For a limited time, Iron Hill Brewery in Wilmington, DE, is offering the proceeds from their "Double Chocolate Hill" dessert to B+.  Yum!
  • Our favorite professional photographer, Bud Keegan, donated to B+ the proceeds from sales of photos from the Salesianum/St. Marks charity ice hockey game.  
  • Alicia hosted her 2nd Annual "Drink for a Cause" at Pop Burger in NYC, and she's asking for donations to B+ for her birthday.
  • Thanks to Mike and the staff of 1614 Fitness & Aerobics in Newark and Bear, DE, for hosting a fun 5K on a beautiful day filled with music, food, antique cars and good spirits.  The event, in memory of B+ Hero Savannah Pauley, raised almost $9,000 for B+!
  • Melissa Gregg guest-bartended at the Jackson Inn with proceeds and tips going to B+!
  • Barclays Bank employees are loyal B+ volunteers and raised $16,800 in 2009 in Barclay's Pound for Pound program, which matches volunteer hours with a monetary donation.  Thank you Barclays!
  • Each year, Christine DePaul has asked her Facebook friends for donations to B+ for her birthday.
  • Alicia Dreher and Sam Blinder hosted Alicia's birthday at NYC hotspot Turtle Bay with a portion of the night's proceeds going to B+.
  • Touch-A-Truck, hosted by the MOMS Club of Hockessin, DE, was a huge success, and they chose The B+ Foundation to benefit from the proceeds this year.
  • Boscov's Department Stores of Concord and Christiana in Delaware allowed us to raise awareness, sell B+ Gear, hot dogs, and discount shopping passes, with proceeds benefitting The B+ Foundation.
  • The employees of TV Guide Magazine collect money for their workday snacks, and gave the proceeds from one month to The B+ Foundation.
